What is AddisWord? AddisWord is a 32-bit word processing program for Windows platforms(32-bit). AddisWord is many of the
features you see in major word processing packages. Most importantly, AddisWord is very highly optimized for use in Geez/Amharic. However, AddisWord also
allows editing in English just like the major word-processing packages.
What is the difference between AddisWord and AddisPro?
AddisPro is a lightweight AddisWord - meaning that it does provide a limited number of AddisWord's features. You can send e-mail in Amharic in AddisPro and also be
able to edit text fully in Amharic and English .
AddisPro does not have the the sophisticated editing and formatting features that are available in AddisWord
. AddisPro does not allow images to be inserted and is simply intended for text editing and e-mail exchange.
What are the system requirements? Both AddisWord and AddisPro require a Windows 32-bit
platform. AddisWord requires about 3 MB disk space and AddisPro requires less than 1 MB disk space.
Can I save my document as a Microsoft Word Document (*.doc)? One of the features of AddisWord is that it allows you to save your documents in Microsoft Word format. This is a good option to have in case you want to
exchange your document with others who prefer Microsoft Word for their text editing.
Can I import images to AddisWord? Yes, you can import images of different format
(including JPEG and BMP..) to AddisWord.
Can I make Web Pages? Yes, this feature is available only in AddisWord. Based
on the concept WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) , AddisWord allows you to use same the document you are editing as HTML files. Links and Images
inserted in the document are automatically recognized and saves in the HTML file.
